PS: If you are reading this, be thankful for life and everything you still have with you

There are many things we often ignore as humans, especially when it comes to our health. However, you should have health plans for the new year, be ready to take up challenges that will reform and give you a better and healthy life.

Healthy Tips For The New Year

• Exercise
Exercise is crucial to our health. Exercise has its way of improving memory and brain function. Check out our article on the different exercises you can perform at home without going to the gym.

• Avoid procrastination
Procrastination they say, is the grave in which opportunities are buried. Take up a new habit for the new year, practice time management. Get a to-do list, write everything you hope to achieve each day and make sure at least 90% of the activities were performed.

• Act SMART( Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timebound )
This might sound cliche but it is very reliable. While setting goals for 2021, make sure they are smart goals. The reason 60% of new year resolutions end up being discarded or broken is that they aren't 'Smart' resolutions. Be specific about what your plan is and set a clear, definite and realistic time frame, it goes a long way in determining if they will be achieved at the end of the day.

• Eat more fruits and Vegetables
Good food increases your chance of having a healthy life. Eat good food, fruit and vegetables. It will help build your immune system.

• Take enough water
Water helps regulate body temperature, protecting some vital organs and tissues. Take at least 3 litres of water every day.

• Have fun
Go out sometimes, have fun with friends and family, take up new good habits, get books that inspire you. Engage in activities that puts you in the right mood. Using fun as a reward for each goal achieved can help your overall productivity.

• Cut down your salt intake
As important as salt is in life, it is also important to know that too much of salt can cause adverse effects to your health, like high blood pressure, which can further cause more complications.

• Avoid alcohol and hard drugs
Hard drugs kill, avoid it, also cut down your alcohol intake for the next year, if you take four bottles normally, reduce it to two, gradually, if you are committed you will eventually stop. Take up the task and see that difference.

• Go for regular check-ups
Visit your doctor a regular check-up, you don’t have to wait till you are sick before going to see the doctor.

• Have a mind of your own
Being able to make decisions for yourself will help you be accountable and more responsible for your actions. Don't do things because everyone around you is doing it or not do the needful because no one around you is doing it. Always do what is right by you from this moment on.

Here is a bonus tip,
• Read books
"The right books are like beams of knowledge shining into our innermost thoughts and imprinting itself unto our soul"
                                     - Anonymous

Books have a way of shaping our thoughts and attitude. Read wide, buy self-development books and books that can improve your knowledge of business, leadership or management. With time, you begin to reason like those you look up to.

Conclusion
As you follow the health tips above, also remember to stay safe from the virus, covid-19. Wash your hands always, wear your facemask and use a hand sanitiser that contains 99% alcohol.
Thank you for reading, stay safe, stay protected.
We hope to see you better and stronger in 2021!

Remember to share with family and friends.

Happy New Year in Advance.
