1. Anti-Inflammatory Agent

Ginger contains a constituent called GINGEROL, it is the main bioactive compound in ginger. It has a strong anti-inflammation and anti-oxidant properties, helping the body ward off infections.

It is also used to reduce nausea, aids digestion and help get rid of the common cold.

 

2. Reduces Menstrual Pain (Dysmenorrhea)

Ginger helps to reduce pains generally, one of which is the menstrual pain. It plays a key role in lowering the level of pain, it is believed to cause uterine contraction.  This herb also helps fight fatigue associated with premenstrual syndrome. 250mg of ginger powder can be used as a substituent of NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), such as ibuprofen.

Gingerol also has an anti-obesity effect. It helps food to digest faster thereby preventing excess storage of fat. Ginger contains salicylates, the same chemical in aspirin that acts as a blood thinner, preventing blood clots in the blood vessels of the heart.

Taking ginger with green tea might help lower blood pressure. Green tea causes the blood vessels to relax, allowing blood flow properly.
