flowering plant with leafy stem, whose rhizome is used widely as a spice and sometimes
as medicine. Ginger is native to Southeast Asia, (China, Japan and India), but
it is now widely grown in Africa and the Southern part of America.
Ginger can be processed in different ways, it can be fresh, dried, powdered, pickled, candied, as oil, or as tea. It is among the healthiest spices on earth.

1. Anti-Inflammatory Agent
Ginger contains a constituent called GINGEROL, it is the main bioactive compound in ginger. It has a strong anti-inflammation and anti-oxidant properties, helping the body ward off infections.
It is also
used to reduce nausea, aids digestion and help get rid of the common cold.
2. Reduces Menstrual Pain (Dysmenorrhea)
Ginger helps
to reduce pains generally, one of which is the menstrual pain. It plays a key
role in lowering the level of pain, it is believed to cause uterine contraction.
This herb also helps fight fatigue
associated with premenstrual syndrome. 250mg of ginger powder can be used as a
substituent of NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), such as ibuprofen.
